For my art show I wanted people’s attention to be drawn to the glaze, since I wouldn’t consider myself the best at throwing. So after getting inspiration from other classmates, I decided to use the glaze technique called ‘drip glazing.’ First I covered my vases in white glaze for a clean background, and then used a squirt bottle to pour the different colored glazes in and drip it on from there. I didn’t mind if it wasn’t perfect, because that is not how I like to create art, so I messily dripped the glaze on my vases hoping for the best. My goal for the show was to have something that would catch someone’s eye and is pleasing to look at, so that is why I chose a different variety of colors for the drip glaze and not stick to just one color, and used the neat white background. I can’t wait to see what great things happen in and out of the studio next year for my senior year!
